Suspicious fire at 812 Carolyn Avenue Kannapolis

On June 16, 2015 at approximately 6:55 pm, the Kannapolis Fire Department responded to 812 Carolyn Avenue concerning a structure fire. After arriving, fire department personnel extinguished the fire which caused substantial damage to the residence. Fire inspectors determined the fire to be suspicious in nature and notified the police department.

Warrant for Arrest on Cierra Roseboro

On 4/13/15 at approximately 10:39 PM, officers from the Kannapolis Police Department responded to the parking lot in front of 499 Cabarrus Arms Drive in reference to a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Samuel Smith sitting in the driver’s seat of a white Chevrolet with multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Smith was initially transported to CMC Northeast and then to CMC Main where he is still receiving care for his injuries.

Witnesses stated they observed a black Ford Crown Victoria pull up next to the vehicle Mr. Smith was sitting in. An unknown black male exited the Crown Victoria and then fired multiple shots at Mr. Smith. The unknown male got back into the vehicle and left the area with Cierra Roseboro who is pictured below.

Based on information obtained during this investigation, a warrant for arrest was obtained on Cierra Roseboro for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. The alleged shooter who has yet to be identified remains at large.

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is currently trying to locate Dixon Gurell Foster, who has active warrants out for his arrest. Mr. Foster is a registered sex offender in Cabarrus County due to a 1997 conviction of Criminal Sexual Conduct in Berrien County, Michigan. Mr. Foster was arrested in March 2015 after moving to Cabarrus County and failing to register as a sex offender in North Carolina. Mr. Foster failed to notify the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office and Probation of an address change after moving from his last location in Concord. Mr. Foster is a 32 year old B/M, 5’8” in height and about 185 lbs. Mr. Foster is believed to be homeless and staying in the Kannapolis or Salisbury area. Armed Robbery at La Tiendita in Concord

On April 16, the La Tiendita on McGill Ave in Concord was robbed by two men who had their faces covered with bandanas. One of the suspects was carrying a small semi-auto handgun. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The subjects pictured are persons of interest in the case. Robbery CVS at 2002 Shiloh Church Road

Just before 9:15 AM this morning, a white male came into the CVS at 2002 Shiloh Church Road, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, and demanded prescription medication from the pharmacy. The suspect left store with a large quantity of medication and got into a white colored sedan that was parked near the front doors of the business. The suspect vehicle was last seen driving north through the CVS parking lot and appeared to have some type of dark material hanging from rear of the vehicle. The suspect was wearing a dark blue hoodie that said “Bering Sea 2007” on the back and also had on black pants. He was approximately 5’5 tall, weighed around 150 pounds, and had a reddish-blonde goatee.

Breakin at Foxfire Lanes

A property owner of Foxfire Lanes discovered the business was broken into upon arriving for work on the morning of March 30, 2015. In reviewing the business’s video surveillance footage, it was discovered the break-in occurred around 5 AM and the suspect appears to be a heavy set W/M. Several of the coin operated machines inside the business were broken into and the suspect attempted to gain entry into the ATM but was unsuccessful. The estimated value of the items removed from the business is $1,500.00. The suspect is believed to have left the area in a light colored mid-sized vehicle.

Warrants for arrest Lamar Reshard Carson

Warrants for arrest were obtained on a Lamar Reshard Carson for Felony Breaking & Entering, Larceny after Breaking & Entering and Possession of Firearm by felon. The pending charges against Mr. Carson are for his involvement with an incident that occurred on January 23, 2015 in the City of Kannapolis.

Mr. Carson is 22 years of age and is described as being 5’7″ in height, weighting approximately 145 lbs and has dread locks. The last known address for Mr. Carson was 1101 Poole Place NW in Concord, NC

HARRISBURG (NC) ARMED ROBBERY

[UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as David Preston Harris. Harris was arrested by NC probation authorities on 2/6/2015 for a parole violation. He was later interviewed by CCSO detectives and confessed to this robbery. He is currently being held in the Cabarrus County Jail with NO bond. Thanks for all the tips we received from citizens that helped lead to this quick outcome!

Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the QuickTrip at 5755 Hwy. 49 South, Harrisburg, N.C. on February 4, 2015. At approximately 6:00am, a white male with a full beard wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt, sweat pants, hat and sunglasses entered the store and stopped for a few minutes before approaching the cashier and pulling a small handgun from his pocket and pointing it at the cashier. The suspect demanded the cashier give him everything in the register before fleeing the store and driving away in a gold minivan. Video of this incident is available under a separate post.
