ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION – November 18, 2014

ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION

On November 18, 2014 at approximately 8:41 pm, the Kannapolis Police Department responded to the Home Towne Suites located at 3200 Cloverleaf Parkway in reference to an armed robbery. According to the clerk, the suspect entered the front lobby of the business, jumped over the counter, displayed a dark colored hand gun and demanded money. When the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect removed the entire cash drawer from the register and ran from the business. The clerk was unharmed during the robbery.

The clerk described the suspect as being a black male, approximately 5”9” in height, wearing a gray sweat shirt, jeans and light colored tennis shoes. The suspect also was wearing a large light brown wig in an attempt to conceal his identity. The clerk was unable to provide a mode or direction of travel of the suspect after he left the business. We are currently working with the management of the business in obtaining the surveillance footage of the robbery. Quiahna “Ki Ki” Murphy – Runaway

The Concord Police Department is asking for assistance in locating a runaway. Quiahna “Ki Ki” Murphy. 5′-4″ 115 pounds. She was last seen November 8th at approximately 9pm, in the vicinity of 2900 Island Point Drive, Concord NC. She was last seen wearing: Blue Hooded Sweatshirt, Jeans, Black and White Air Jordans. Harris Teeter Robbery Investigation

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office (NC), in conjunction with the Concord Police Department, are investigating two armed robberies of Harris Teeter Grocery Stores in Cabarrus County. The first incident occurred at the Harris Teeter located at 9900 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, N.C. on 10/12/14 at approximately 11:00pm. The second incident occurred at the Harris Teeter located at 9641 Brookdale Drive, Charlotte, N.C. (Cabarrus County) on 11/9/14 at approximately 9:30pm. The two suspects are described as black males, one being approximately 6’-6’1” tall, slender build and the other approximately 5’7” tall with a stockier build. The suspect with the stockier build was wearing what appeared to be a homemade camouflage mask over his head and face. The taller suspect had a dark colored mask covering his face. There was a black handgun used in both robberies. See the below surveillance images from both robberies.

Brothers Tire Sales Burglarized

Sometime during the evening of October 15. 2014, and the morning of October 16, 2014, Brothers Tire Sales located at 1216 N. Main Street in Kannapolis was burglarized. It appears the suspect(s) entered the business through the service area and then accessed other areas of the business. One of the owners, Brad Brothers, reported a quantity of cash was missing from the business.

Moose Pharmacy in Mt. Pleasant Attempted Break-In

This photo from Moose Pharmacy in Mt. Pleasant on the night of Sept. 18 at around 11:00. The white male in the photo attempted to break into the store but was not successful. He appears to be a dark haired male wearing a light colored hat and a blue plaid shirt. Little Buck’s Robbery

On September 13, 2014, at approximately 6:17 am, a common law robbery took place at the Little Buck’s convenience store located at 717 N. Cannon Blvd in Kannapolis. The female clerk was restrained in headlock by the suspect and currency was removed from a cash box. The suspect ran from the store and was last seen running south. UPDATE: Subject Arrested – Residential Burglary – 7600 block of Mt Olive Road in Mt Pleasant

This subject was arrested based on tips that came thru Crime Stoppers. Thanks Tipsters!

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a residential burglary case that occurred yesterday (9/11/14) in the 7600 block of Mt Olive Road in Mt Pleasant, NC between the hours of 8:15 am and 3:00 pm. A stolen credit card from the home was used to purchase jewelry items at Wal-Mart in Salisbury, NC yesterday at around 4:15 pm.

The white male pictured is a person of interest in the case. He is a white male, approximately 30-35 years of age, with dark hair and a mustache. He walks with a distinctive limp and is wearing tan ball cap, a long sleeved white shirt, jeans, and flip flops. Video of the suspect will be made available shortly.

Unsolved Murder of Charles Edwards

The Kannapolis Police Department is seeking information regarding an unsolved murder. On May 27, 2010, members of the Kannapolis Police Department responded to a home invasion at 632 Barlow Avenue. After arriving at the residence, officers discovered that a Charles Edwards had been shot. Mr. Edwards died soon after due to his injuries.

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is currently trying to locate Chadwick Jerome Richardson, who has active warrants out for his arrest. Mr. Richardson is a registered sex offender in Cabarrus County due to 1996 conviction of 2nd Degree Rape in Mecklenburg County. Mr. Richardson failed to notify the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office of an address change after moving from his last location in Concord. Mr. Richardson is a 45 year old B/M, 5’9” in height and about 160 lbs. He is last known to be bald and has brown eyes. Mr. Richardson is believed to be in the Charlotte area. Midland, Bethel Glen Car Break-ins

These are 2 still shots of a suspect in some vehicle break – ins that we had occur in our county overnight Wednesday.

As crime prevention specialists, those of us in law enforcement are always telling people NOT to leave valuables in their vehicles in plain sight. People like this guy are the reason why. He spends over 60 seconds shining his flashlight into both of these vehicles before moving on because he apparently couldn’t see anything in there worth taking.
